Dark Instinct

Game description

Dark Instinct is an atmospheric horror which is designed to scare you. Travel through thick forests and over creepy canyons which fill your body with terror. Be careful as you will never know what lies up ahead.

Use your tools to reach areas you couldn't otherwise. Thick forest? Slash your way through with a knife. Can't make that jump? Hack down a tree.

Story

Your name is Liam Gilliland. You are currently travelling through Aokigahara forest with your two best friends; Jordan Russell and Josh Olsen. You all notice that sunset is approaching and decide to set up camp for the evening.

You wake up later on in the evening with both of your friends missing. You are all alone.

Your mission is to find your friends and escape to civilisation.

Current Controls

These are current controls are subject to change up until final release later on this week.

- Use your mouse to look around. 

- The 'WASD' keys control your horizontal movement.

- The 'F' key toggles your phone flashlight on/off.

- Hold the 'TAB' key to bring up your phone and access the in-game menu.

- The 'LEFT CTRL' toggles crouching.

- Press the space bar to use equipped tools (E.G. Pocket Knife).

General Information

This Project is only a demo of Dark Instinct and is not the final product.

This product is part of a submission for a module taken at Anglia Ruskin University. The production of this game will continue after I have finished university. 

The current state of the project includes free 3D model assets where they do not belong to the developer. Until all free 3D assets are removed and replaced by the developers own work, this project will be strictly non-profit and for educational use only.

Future Plans

After finishing university, I will continue to improve the demo until it up to a standard I think is acceptable. I intend to remove all external assets and recreate everything on my own thus removing any ugly encounters with asset developers! After that stage, if I have enough support, I will continue to develop this product without updates till I am ready to release the final product.
